Novel Novice

Friends and family know that this past weekend was a busy one for me, and also very exciting. Besides Easter goodness (which in my world, is mostly about colored eggs and chocolate bunnies), we also held a smashing party for my mom’s birthday and I got to see the best band ever, Muse, live in concert! And on top of all that — I had a planned interview with author Kimberly Derting before her book signing event at Powell’s Books in the Portland, Oregon area.

But things got more exciting.

When I showed up to meet Kim, who was she chatting with? None other than our April Book of the Month author, Lisa Schroeder! And who popped by a little later to say hello? Award-winning author of Flash Burnout, L.K. Madigan. Oh, and then? Yep, The Naughty List author Suzanne Young stopped by and said hello. I was certainly in book nerd heaven, and I’ve been walking on a bit of a literary cloud ever since.

Now, of course, I did get that interview with Kim — and it pretty much rocks my socks off. She confessed to me that she’s a bit nervous to see herself in the video (and as I work in TV, but prefer the behind-the-scenes work, I understand the sentiment) — but I can tell you, Kim is a rock star and she’s got nothing to worry about. I’ll have the interview up soon — hopefully sometime this week, depending on how quickly I can edit the video.
