Some of the authors we appreciate the most here at Novel Novice are the ones who’ve already participated in or agreed to participate in our Book of the Month feature. Why? Well, because they are awesome.
Besides their awesome levels of awesomeness, these authors also take the extra time and effort to share their work with us. They write guest blogs and profiles. They answer ridiculous and sometimes silly interview questions. They send us photos and recipes and fun facts about their books. They send us advance copies of their books to read. They provide really, really cool prizes for us to giveaway to you guys.
And above all else, they write really fantastic books!
Here are the authors who have already participated in our Book of the Month, or who are scheduled for upcoming Book of the Month features:
Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Kami & Margaret took a chance on a new website when they agreed to host our first-ever Book of the Month! They also run some really cool contests on their own website, and made their own versions of Lena’s necklace (as featured in their book Beautiful Creatures). Oh, and they have really, really yummy Southern recipes.
Lisa writes incredibly beautiful, emotional novels in verse (usually about ghosts or angels), but her new MG book about cupcakes and other fun things is also a total trip. Plus, Lisa lives practically next door to me (okay, that’s a slight exaggeration). But still, props to Portland authors!
Kimberly is a kindred spirit because she runs another really awesome website for YA books called YA Book Central. She’s also the author of the Sucks to Be Me series. She has successfully made vampire romance funny. And snarky. Double victory.
Heidi R. Kling
We can’t wait to read Heidi’s debut novel Sea when it comes out this June, and we’re excited to have her on board for the Book of the Month. She’s so receptive to your ideas, and she’s really great about interacting with and responding to readers through social networking and e-mail. Also, bonus points to Heidi for thinking up this whole Author Appreciation Week thing! (And also, it’s her birthday today. So … Happy Birthday!)
Who doesn’t love The Mortal Instruments series? Cassie has created a fantastic world and she’s giving us even more — with a fourth book in her original series and a trilogy of prequels. She’s also really super about responding to readers, even though she warns you on her website that she probably won’t be able to.
Thank you — each and every one of you — for writing such amazing books, and for going the extra mile to interact with your readers & to help us out here at Novel Novice!
